AIVD® Equine ID microchips are designed for horse owners to provide the same positive identification for their horses. Combined with HORSEtrac^TM, founded by AVID in the late 80's, horse owners have access to an innovative recovery network that utilizes the electronic microchip to help in disasters, theft and to reunite horses with their owners.

HORSEtrac^TM is the oldest recovery network for horses in the United States. It is a privately maintained database manned 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Horses enrolled in the HORSEtrac^TM system are protected by real-time access to third party documentation of ownership. In many situations, this can prove to be invaluable. In cases of theft, disaster recovery or insurance claims, HORSEtrac^TM stands ready.

HORSEtrac^TM is operated in conjunction with PETtrac^TM, the largest companion animal recovery network in the United States. Combined, these two respond to over 5,000 recovery calls a week. As an added precaution, HORSEtrac^TM maintains backups of the database at remote locations.
